NEWSLETTER
February 5, 2015 edition

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” -Acts 2:21

O Master, let me be worthy of being called a Christian.

DID YOU KNOW…

Did you know Garrett Morgan, an African-American man, invented the traffic signal and the gas mask? Some of the things we use in our everyday lives were invented by our very own people! WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN?!

LEADERSHIP SCHOLARS PARENT ACADEMY

Parents/Guardians, would you like to build partnership with your home and school? Mark your calendar for 8-Tuesdays, beginning March 10, from 6-7:30pm for sessions that will help you do just that! Free childcare will be provided and a free light dinner for your family will be served from 5:30-6pm. NO EXCUSES!!! Look for the green flyer that was sent to your home and return the lower portion to confirm your participation. See you then!

Should you have any questions, feel free to call Mrs. Baskin, Miss Mason or Ms. Houston at 513-381-2126.

EDCHOICE VOUCHERS ARE IN!!! PLEASE STOP IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE TO SIGN YOUR VOUCHER!!!

TESTING

Scholars will be receiving an unusual amount of testing within the next few months. Grades 3-8 will be taking the Ohio PARRCs testing in English/Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science; Grades 2-7 will be taking the CogAT and/or Iowa Tests of Basic Skills; Grade 3 will take the Ohio Achievement Assessment as mandated under the Ohio Ed Choice Scholarship guidelines; and grades kindergarten-8 will take the 3 rd round of NWEA testing. As you can see, we are going to be pretty busy and we are asking that all scholars are at school daily and are on time. The faculty and staff would also like for parents/guardians to discuss with their scholar(s) the importance of these testing and encourage them to do their best. Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation!
