“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”

-Isaiah 40:29

Dear Jesus, help me walk in the courage of my faith.

LEADERSHIP SCHOLARS PARENT ACADEMY

Parents/Guardians, would you like to build partnership with your home and school? Mark your calendar for 8-Tuesdays that begun March 10, from 6-7:30pm for sessions that will help you do just that! Free childcare will be provided and a free light dinner for your family will be served from 5:30-6pm. NO EXCUSES!!! Call the office for more information See you then!

STANDARDIZED TESTING

Scholars will be receiving an unusual amount of testing within the next few months. Grades 3-8 will be taking the Ohio PARRCs testing in English/Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science; Grades 2-7 will be taking the CogAT and/or Iowa Tests of Basic Skills; Grade 3 will take the Ohio Achievement Assessment as mandated under the Ohio Ed Choice Scholarship guidelines; and grades kindergarten-8 will take the 3 rd round of NWEA testing. As you can see, we are going to be pretty busy and we are asking that all scholars are at school daily and are on time. The faculty and staff would also like for parents/guardians to discuss with their scholar(s) the importance of these testing and encourage them to do their best. Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation!

* Here are four ways to help your scholar prepare for test week:

1. Explain that the tests will show how much he/she has learned. Encourage them to try their best, but don t put so much emphasis on them that they feel stressed.

2. Practice the test format.

3. Limit activities the night before the tests. Be sure your scholar gets to bed on time and sets an alarm for the next morning.

4. On test day, give your scholar an energy-boosting breakfast. Try to include protein and carbohydrates .
